We do this not because it is easy but because we thought it was easy.
soft rotation is a monthly concert organized collectively by sound enthusiasts. We warmly introduce rotation as our core concept, offering a platform for newcomers and artists who share our commitment to exploration by embracing errors, mistakes in try-outs. soft rotation is a concert series of time-based sound performances encompassing practices, actions, computer music, electronics, acoustic music, and audio-visual.
We invite you to join us, hang out, and talk with the artists, exchanging knowledge and ideas following each concert.

Christopher Theophanous (DE)
Christopher Theophanous is a Cologne-based transdisciplinary artist and designer, working mainly in experimental sound, installation and DIY electronics.
His work is centered around the transformative potential and poetic notions derived from the interrelationship between ecology and technology.
Sayaka Kuramochi is an artist who focuses on the relationship between humans and technology in her creative and research endeavors. She utilizes stones, minerals, and crystals as the materials for her expressions. Alongside her exploration of minerals and their history, as well as their connection to humanity, she develops works that leverage their inherent qualities. As a result, her workspace is always in a state of chaos.
In this performance, the objective is to investigate the chemical and acoustic properties of crystals. Using various tools and materials such as refrigerators and soldering irons, she induces several scientific phenomena and translates their sounds into audible experiences. Observers surround her workspace, witnessing the subtle changes in the emitted sounds and observing her manipulations and the transformations of materials firsthand. This allows them to directly perceive the scientific phenomena as experiential encounters.
Chanmin Kim is an experimental filmmaker, painter, pantomime performer, and folk singer-songwriter. He is interested in personal experiences and fiction derived from them. It is often a real event, but sometimes it has to do with a dream.
