From Upstairs in Cologne, the waves he sends out form into rainclouds. A solo trumpeter stands in the middle of an empty Chicago street. After the rain, Miles of blue notes pierce the fog, echoing through the night. From there, we might find ourselves in Detroit just in Home for Dub Techno to meet Down Tempo. We wake up from our trip. The sun is out over the Caribbean. Sweet Lover’s Rock, Roots Reggae fills the air around us. We take a 2Step to London, then stop-over Accra for a little Highlife. And finally, to complete our diasporic journey, what Ermias calls his Pan-African Hifi, we arrive in the Ethio Jazz capitol, Addis Abeba.
