Sendung Switchstance Radio

2001 was the year when Tom Strauch started his label Switchstance Recordings to give a platform to organic beats and grooves from international artists that combine music styles like Hip Hop, Funk, African music, Reggae, Jazz and more. Since then the music of his label has travelled the world and is listened to in more than 100 countries worldwide. The wide range of different styles of music from planet earth was always the biggest influence for Tom as a DJ, selector and label manager. And that same love for music can be heard on Switchstance Radio.

It is normal for the show that you can hear funky Hip Hop from Madlib, Aesop Rock, Wu-Tang Clan or Apollo Brown to be followed by deep Downtempo and Trip Hop by Hugo Kant, Blockhead or Tom's band Ancient Astronauts before the show takes a turn to Africa with Orlando Julius & The Heliocentrics, Fela Kuti, BANTU or Guelewar drumming it up intensely. This could be followed by some deep Reggae and Dancehall from artists such as Midnite, Marcus Gad, Kabaka Pyramid, Lion Dub, Mungo´s Hi Fi or Nilotika Cultural Ensemble before the show ends with some nice and easy Soul music by Thee Sacred Souls or Lady Wray.
