Outta Guatemala City, TOKEN SELEKTA has been one of the original founders of the junglist movement in his area, by pushing and promoting this sound for almost 15 years now.
In 2003 he started a Reggae & Jungle based crew called Rythm Selektas which helped him to push further Jungle and D&B sounds in the region. In 2011 he co-founded Bass Supremacy – the most renowned all around Bass Music event promoters/djs crew in Guatemala. By that time they were the only ones to bring international acts to their events such as Isaac Maya, No Face, Jacky Murda, Krakindub, David Boomah, to name a few.
During 2011 Token released two tracks on Low Freq, a Mexican label run by Isaac Maya, followed by a 10-track LP named ‚Any Sound Test Dead‘ on Reign Supreme Dubz Int., based in Los Angeles. By early 2013 he started to get UK radio support, online and on FM radios such as Kane FM, Origin UK, Rough Tempo, Kool London, Bass Junkees, Raiders Radio.
Last year he released ‚Think Me Did Done Remix‘ on Riq Yardrock, a UK based label run by Marvellous Cain. His EP ‚Yardrock Movement‘ was released on 119 Sound (USA).
Now Token Selekta has many releases lining up for various jungle record labels, so keep him on your radar cause 20+ of his jungle tracks are already doing damage on dancefloors and radio stations around the world… and they are about to hit the shops real soon.
