We warmly introduce rotation as our core concept, offering a platform for newcomers and artists who share our commitment to exploration by embracing errors, mistakes in try-outs. soft rotation is a concert series of time-based sound performances encompassing practices, actions, computer music, electronics, acoustic music, and audio-visual.

Der technologische Fortschritt, den wir erleben, scheint der Aufrechterhaltung der kapitalistischen Verhältnisse zu unterliegen. Anstatt uns zu befähigen, neue Perspektiven und Lebensweisen zu entwickeln, scheinen wir festzustecken. Wir leben in einer „futuristischen“ Gegenwart bei gleichzeitiger Perspektivlosigkeit in Bezug auf unsere kollektive Zukunft und fallen ständig in kulturelle Formen der Vergangenheit zurück.
In meinem Live-Set versuche ich, diese Umstände klanglich zu reflektieren. Ich verstehe Sound als etwas, das sich ständig verändert, das auf seltsame Weise Teil von uns ist, in unsere Körper und ins Bewusstsein eindringt. Durch Hörerfahrungen kann unsere eigene Veränderlichkeit greifbarer werden, denke ich.
The technological progress we are experiencing seems to be subject to the perpetuation of capitalist relations. Instead of empowering us to develop new perspectives and ways of living, we seem to be stuck. Living in a „futuristic“ present and the simultaneous lack of perspective with regard to our collective future we’re constantly falling back to cultural forms of the past.
In my live set I try to reflect on these circumstances sonically. I understand sound as something ever changing, that is somehow part of us, entering our bodies and minds. Through listening experiences our own changeability can become more tangible I think.

Juan Sebastian Cortes AKA papi guaro [CO]
is a composer and electronic musician whose work bridges the realms of acoustic and electronic sound. Their compositions explore the intricate relationships between space, texture, and sonic movement, utilizing modular synthesis, Acoustic Instruments, spatialization, and live performance to create deeply immersive experiences. Drawing from a diverse palette of fixed media, improvisation, and multimedia elements, his work navigates sound and form with a focus on movement, depth, and interaction.

Inwoo Jung [KR]
Inwoo Jung (KR/DE) is a Cologne-based musician whose work lies at the abstract zone out of binary norms. Jung’s practice involves materializing sensory experiences and imaginations into a tangible form. His sonic integration merges microtonal sound sculpting with obscure composition to occur happenings and dynamics that transcend the normative framework. By the bodily inhale/ release of emotions and thoughts, his expression seeks for the intersectional awareness of solidarity.
