soft rotation is a concert series dedicated to sound art, performance and experimental electronic music. Organized collectively by sound enthusiasts, our concerts are built around the idea of rotation, mixing perspectives, mediums and voices in each edition. We offer a platform for audiences and artists who share our commitment to exploration, where experimentation and try-out ideas are encouraged, and the unexpected is welcomed.
We invite you to join us, hang out, and talk with the artists, exchanging knowledge and ideas following each concert.

Jay
Inspired by the darker side of sounds, Jay explores soundscapes and song structures as a producer, live artist and DJ. Sometimes in a more direct way, sometimes on experimental paths – somewhere between noise, layers and driven, beat-defined structures.Links/Social Media:

Ráhel
Ráhel plays the harp and keys. Usually she is accompanying Trace Polly on the lever harp. When playing alone they like to deconstruct and reinterpret beloved folk songs from her childhood, and work with improvisation.

Laura Totenhagen
Totenhagen commands a spectrum that ranges from the most delicate vocal techniques to raw noise textures, transforming her voice into an entirely new, synthetically charged instrument with the help of digital effect pedals. In doing so, she alienates the effects themselves, liberating them from their usual function and pushing them into extreme boundary zones.

Totenhagen’s solo set evokes the nuanced atmosphere of a horror film: dark, threatening, at times grotesque—a chamber of terrors permeated with humor, playfulness, and lightness. It is a solo performance by a singular artist who invites the audience into an acoustic hall of horrors while guiding them by the hand—both uncanny and liberating. In this maximalist approach to the voice, Totenhagen reveals herself as an uncompromising sonic explorer who refuses to be bound by formats or rules, constantly striving for new metamorphoses.
